Harmony, wellbeing & the energetic bodies.

Finding balance is essential in life

How are you feeling?

Let’s check in… how does your mind feel? Is it busy, crowded, or heavy feeling? Is it swirling with a million tasks that need completing? Is it calm, still, and expansive?

Now, what about your heart? Tune in, take a few breaths, and still the mind a little. What is your heart telling you? Does it feel hopeful, open, compassionate, and uplifted? Or, is it laden down with depair, closed off, hardened,  or filled with anger?

How does your stomach feel? Tune in for a moment, and let’s see. Is there tightness there? Are you holding your muscles in, clenching hard as if to hold yourself together?  Or are you fully relaxed in that area? Is your stomach churning or filled with butterflies? Or does it feel relaxed, at ease, and comfortable?

Scan throughout your body.

Be aware of any areas of muscle or joint soreness, tension, or discomfort. These are the subtle messages your physical body gives you to keep you connected to the state of alignment (or misalignment) you may currently be experiencing.

We live in strange times. Most of the day, we are busy sending our own vital energies outwards into the world. This happens whether we are interacting with others face to face or just our thoughts are drawn to people, places, and events in our minds and imagination. Wherever our attention is, our energy (consciousness and vital forces) are.

With more and more to distract us than ever before, we are regularly giving away our power energy and, therefore, our sovereignty to external events, places, and people. This may lead you to feeling run down, depleted, sad, anxious, and sometimes even hopeless, often without even being cognizant of the reason why.

Our energetic bodies are wonderful things.

As humans incarnate in physical matter, we have 3 layers/sheaths (or bodies). The first is the causal or ideative body. This is the blueprint, if you like, the finest, most subtle, fastest vibrating sheath that is ‘You’. Created out of subatomic energy, it is pure light, yet animated by the divine spark of creation, that creative God Force reflected in you as the Spirit (or Holy Spirit).

Energy centers placed along the spinal column and at the crown and perineum, receive, transform, utilize cosmic and life force energies, and hold the second, or astral/etheric body in form. They also process and release any leftover energies or byproducts that are surplus to requirement (those coloured energies seen swirling in the aura). The centers or chakras (from the sankrit meaning ‘wheel’) function constantly, allowing a ‘stepping down’or transforming of the subtle energies into grosser, denser, slower frequencies of vibration, which form the physical sheath or matter body. When energy and life force are withdrawn from the physical body into the astral/etheric, at the point of so-called physical death, our physical body ceases to be registered in this physical dimension of matter.

Dis-ease begins in the energetic form.

All illness, malady, and discomfort that you may experience in the physical body and reality has its origins in the energetic bodies where infinitesimal imbalances are easily registered on the fine frequencies of the subtle form.  These only translate to physical ailments if the subtle cues of the energetic bodies are ignored for long enough. These cues will whisper at first: be it a little anxiety, a low mood, working too hard and feeling a little more tired than usual, a twinge here and there, they are usually easy enough to ignore. But when these whispers are ignored, they eventually become shouts! That’s when the physical body encounters dis-ease, chronic pain, and real physical problems.

The energetic bodies are fine, like transparent gossamer. They are finely tuned instruments that, when struck by an incoherent vibration, produce a discordant note. That ‘note’ may then vibrate through the subtle layers of a person into the gross, creating physical, mental, and emotional issues.

What is an ‘incoherent vibration’, and can I avoid them?

Incoherence is a vibrational frequency that is inconsistant or dissonant with an original or base frequency field. As an energetic being, you have a frequency field that is entirely unique to you. Whenever that field comes into contact with an inharmonious frequency, it sets up a dissonance within your field.

I can illustrate this better by using a personal example of something that happened to me recently. Our youngest daughter is studying music performance and production in college  and, as part of her course, must perform with her band at live venues. The band she plays guitar for is a thrash/heavy metal band. Nowadays, the only music I listen to (and only very occasionally) is instrumental, peaceful and calming, or devotional, mantra-style music. I spend the majority of my time reading, writing, and pottering around my greenhouse. Not exactly the rock n’ roll lifestyle! I can’t remember the last time I was in a bar, but it just so happened that her most recent gig was being held at a local venue in a bar. We love to watch her play (proud mama moment), so my husband and I gladly took along a bunch of our daughter’s teenage friends to watch her perform. I could only be in the same room as the bands performing for short periods of time. The literal rhythm of the drums and bass guitars were too much for me, I physically felt them pressing down on my heart. I stayed in the small, blacked out room for my daughter’s performance, and we all left as soon as she was done.

In the 48 hours that followed, I felt out of sorts. My sleep was disturbed with images of strange creatures and a creeping, anxious feeling. My mood nosedived, I felt morose and lifeless. I realized that after a long time living like a little hermit in my own peaceful place, working on trying to raise my vibration, I had, without much thought, spent 3 hours in a dissonant frequency. I quickly remembered my Sound Healing training and treated myself as I would a client, reharmonising and rebalancing my subtle energies using sound healing instruments.

Dissonance doesn’t have to be quite as literal as listening to live heavy metal. Think about all of the ways that you come into contact with sound, light, and subtle emotional frequency throughout your day.  First thing in the morning, maybe you do a little doom scrolling on social media while you drink your coffee. Perhaps you listen to the radio on the way to work, catching the news in between songs. Then you spend your day surrounded by people who are all going through their own individual struggles. You queue in a local deli for your lunch and are party to the angry ranting of a fellow customer queuing behind you. You spend your lunch break gossiping with a colleague or perhaps pouring over a celebrity magazine. If you are lucky enough to like your job, you happily spend another few hours at your screen before facing the rush hour traffic home and some less-than-patient fellow travellers. You get home just in time to stress about what to make for dinner and end up ordering a takeaway, then eat it, watching a tense drama, soap opera, and some news before falling into bed.

Do you recognise any part of your day in what is written above?

What can you do?

Look after and protect your own frequency field! I can not state this enough. Remember that whenever you give your attention to something, your energy is flowing to that, whatever it is. Ask yourself, ‘Is this preserving or taking my energy?’ Be aware that your emotions can give you valuable clues as to whether a situation, conversation, TV show, book, movie, news story or even a friend is energy sapping or inharmonious with your own field.

If after leaving a particular persons company, you consistently feel drained, down hearted or saddened, then perhaps you need to spend less time with them. If watching the news makes you feel hopeless and helpless, then STOP WATCHING IT! (Let’s face it, it’s never actually been ‘news’. It’s largely a propaganda machine.) If scrolling on social media makes you feel as though you are not enough just as you are, then delete it. If going to a sports match leaves you feeling angry for hours afterward, perhaps you need to spend time doing something else at the weekend.

We become so conditioned by other people’s opinions of who we should be and how our lives should look, we stop listening to our own intuition – those subtle messages from our energetic systems and our soul, sent to keep us on track, where we are supposed to be. We inore them at a high price, our own physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing.

Becoming harmonious again.

One of the fastest ways to rebalance your energy field is with sound. Remember, though, when it comes to music with lyrics, the words also carry a frequency. You may enjoy listening to hip hop, but unfortunately, any music that contains lyrics about drugs, killing, drinking, and sex is not the best nor the highest frequency. Try some uplifting or peaceful classical music, tibetan singing bowls, or nature sounds. Chanting (either listening to others chant or trying it yourself) is excellent, too, for restoring energetic balance. Mantras were specifically created with the frequency and potency of certain seed sounds contained within them. The ‘Om’ mantra  is a wonderful example of this. As the cosmic sound of creation ‘aum’ (rhymes with ‘home’) is vibrationally aligned with all beings. Nature sounds, bird songs, and running water all work beautifully to create resonant coherence in an individual’s frequency field, and they are accessible for everyone, whether live and in person or digitally.

The heartbeat of the earth, when experienced in a natural setting, may also sync to your own heartbeat, decreasing blood pressure and creating peace of mind, great for overall health and wellbeing. Did you know that the human heart has the largest energy field in the body, larger even than the brain? It has been measured at up to 10 feet away from the body. It is believed that the actual radius of the heart field may be many times bigger, but so far, diagnostic machines are not equipped to measure beyond 10 feet.

As the heart is our ‘feeling center’, how often during the day are we standing in one another’s heart field and affecting each other’s subtle energies? For more excellent detail on this, further research and exercises you can try, visit: https://www.heartmath.org

The breath is also a powerful tool for balance, particularly certain types of breath work or pranayama (meaning ‘life force control and extention’) as they focus on and draw in life force energy into the being. Breathwork techniques may work particularly well to lower anxiety and blood pressure.

To finish.

It’s not all bad news. Once you understand that you are not simply a physical being, you have the ability to modify your habits and behaviors in some very simple ways to remain in energetic harmony and balance most of the time. Armed with some quick fixes (such as those I’ve shared above), there are no excuses not to live a beautiful, balanced, and coherent life.

Bear in mind that some people, places, and habits simply do not deserve your energy, and once you truly value the life force and cosmic energies that you consist of, it will be easy to make better and better choices for yourself.

Wishing you peace, health, and happiness.
