I can only speak for myself, but I feel that being a Medium is the greatest privilege of my life.

To be able to be a force for good, to be an ambassador for the Great Spirit (Source, God…) and to work in harmony and cooperation with those resident in the Next World (who are not ‘dead’ but very much alive!) is an honour of which I feel undeserving most of the time.

To know that you have tried your very best to serve both those in the World of the Spirit and those who are very much in need of evidence of the continuity of life beyond so called physical death, may bring great peace.

Of course, it’s not all great! Having to stand in front of a room full of strangers, trusting that I will be linked to the people in the Next World did not come easily to me. As a naturally shy child and anxious over-thinking adult, one of my greatest difficulties has been working on the platform in front of an audience, sometimes the nerves are horrendous (I guess those dance performances in theatres as a child stood me in good stead!).

We may practice our connection to those in the Next World, but a good Medium always works LIVE. There are no scripts or prompts, only a wing and a prayer and, fortunately the organisation and love of the Spirit Guides and helpers that get us through a demonstration.

Is it spooky? No! Not at all. Being a Medium is like talking to someone else’s loved one on a telephone in a distant country; sometimes the line is crackly with static and you may only make out a couple of words they say, other times it’s like face time and you see and hear everything with crystal clarity! A good Medium doesn’t lie awake in bed continuing to talk with the spirit people, unless there is something desperately important that we must know, we recognise that we have lives to lead too and our rest is paramount.

FAQ:

Do you see Spirit everywhere you go? Not if I don’t ‘tune in’ to the psychic atmosphere of a place (which takes discipline, proper training and the right attitude). That would be like a neurosurgeon going out and about trying to perform brain surgery on random people in the street and super market. When I’m not working I’m NOT working. It’s all about the discipline.

Am I going to meet my soul mate? I have no idea. That kind of thing is the realm of two-bit psychics and fortune tellers and that’s not what true mediumship is about. If anyone was truly able to tell you your actual future would you really want to know it ALL?

Isn’t summoning up Spirits and mediumship black magic? I have no idea. Ask a black magician. A Medium has as much to do with the ‘conjuring of spirits’ as a high court judge has to do with a ballroom dancer! We cannot dial up/call up/summon/conjure the spirit people. We work with our own natural conscious awareness and that of our guides to form thought to thought links with those who live in the Next World. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. No one ever communicates with us unless they wish to. Those resident in the World of the Spirit are still living under the Universal Spiritual Law of Free Choice, just as you and I are.

Why are houses haunted? Usually these stories are misconceptions. Many times ghosts or apparitions are seen in certain homes or stately manors, walking through a wall at the same time each night, or similar. These are simply energetic imprints on the psychic atmosphere of a place. These apparitions, like videos on TikTok, are not ‘alive’. You cannot communicate with them. Usually a ‘haunting’ is one of 3 Things: An over active imagination and creaky central heating/floor boards. An adolescent with a lot of psychic energy creating a field of activity in the home (unbeknownst to them). OR a loved one or former resident of the place in question wishing to be recognised and remembered.

It’s so important to be properly trained and well read/educated in Mediumship and Psychism. Those who aren’t can often fall foul of many commonly held misconceptions, superstitions and delusions.

Being a Medium is a very natural part of being Human. After all, we are all Spirit Beings HERE & NOW. Mediumship exists to provide evidence of the continuity of life beyond the physical realm. Eternal Life, although mainly associated with orthodoxy, is a FACT OF LIFE. It is your natural birthright as a Child of the Light. Although the temporary physical body will age, decay and finally fall away, YOU are everlasting because you were created by and of the substance of Source (God, Great Spirit…).
There is nothing to fear in death and where a bond of love exists between two people, no one is ever lost to you.
