Forgive Yourself

What? FORGIVE?!?

Often times when we work with others along their healing pathway, themes become apparent.

The overarching focus with my lovely Clients this week has been Self Forgiveness and it is maybe something we could all try to practice a little more.

We may often fear that to forgive another is to accept or condone toxic behaviors, yet that isn’t the whole truth.
Whilst finding space & strength in your soul to forgive another their hurtful actions is an act of wisdom & compassion,

Forgiving yourself may be the ultimate act of grace.

Releasing shame, guilt, anger and hostility towards yourself for making mistakes, failing to live up to your own standards (or those of others) or for simply not knowing better is essential if you wish to release past behaviors, patterns, generational trauma and even ancestral wounds.

It is often more difficult to show ourselves compassion than it is to forgive another. But why do we cling so tightly to outmoded ways of being? Generally speaking, because the familiarity of our actions provides us with a level of comfort, security and a sense of value and sometimes we honestly don’t realise that choosing to CHANGE is an option.

Choosing to forgive yourself is not easy and may take time, but it is worthwhile.

Forgiveness of self is turning the key in the lock of a self made prison cell. It gifts YOU liberation. A freedom and expansive state of being where anything is possible…where you get to choose what happens next.

Like most healing processes, self forgiveness is a journey, a time of great learning, integration and emotional release, but like all journeys, the destination pales into insignificance when compared with the scenery along the way.

You are sacred. You are loved. You deserve contentment.

Now go forgive yourself ❤
