The Next World?

**Trigger Warning** In Part 6 (I & II) I will be discussing some difficult topics, including suicide and abortion. If you have suicidal ideation or carry any unresolved trauma, PLEASE reach out to your local care providers for help. Alternatively speak to a friend, colleague or help line. What I write here is for educational purposes.

Our lives can be stressful

Many of us, who through our lives have suffered mental and emotional problems, physical illness and other stresses, wouldn’t be here, on this earth now, if it wasn’t for a loving friend, relative or dedicated health care professional.

Life here on the earth is fraught with highs and lows and as spirit beings living in the physical realm, some souls are simply more sensitive to the everyday predicaments in which we find ourselves.

Life is precious. Your life is exceedingly precious and believe it or not, you agreed to incarnate on the earth at this time, in this body, with your exact parents in the place where you were born. Our ‘Soul Plan’ (or ‘contract’) is an agreement we make with loving teachers and other members of our soul group, before being born into the earth life.

The amount of detail as to the experiences you will encounter in this life is largely unknown, however, you agreed to take on certain lessons to teach you things that are simply not able to be taught in the Spirit Realm. These lessons are required for the progress or evolution of your Soul.

We are all on an infinite journey back to the light of the Source of All Things, but this can only happen through the gradual refinement and purification of each Spirit. With each earthly life comes opportunities to overcome difficulties and progress your Soul.

Much has been said by the church regarding suicide. In times past, those who died by their own hand were not allowed to be buried within church grounds and were thought to go to ‘hell’.

We have previously talked about the fallacy of the traditional ideas of ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’. There is no punitive God-Man, sitting on a cloud judging the so-called ‘bad’ and ‘good’. We make our homes in the next world here and now.

What does that mean?

It means that you have absolute responsibility as to where you will go when you transition from this life and into the next and that means that what kind of person you have been in this life will matter on the other side. There are fortunately, very few evil monsters in this world, but those who have set within themselves a frequency of harm towards others, spite, greed, bitterness, anger and resentment, will only be able to exist in such a frequency once they pass beyond the physical.

All is known on the other side. What can be hidden behind a smile and pleasant veneer on the earth, is visible to all in the next world.

Although the idea of ‘hell’ undoubtedly refers to these Realms of lower, denser frequency, it is the individuals own behaviour that places him or her there. We do not reside in any realm for all of eternity. Ours is an ongoing journey of progress, an unfolding of the Soul ever onwards and upwards. The idea that once you arrive in the heavenly lands, you remain there forever, is misguided. That would be like remaining in Kindergarten into your 80s!

Help is available in every realm

Those who die by their own hand pass to the next world, just like everybody else.

As all life continues on the other side, at the moment of crossing the individual will find themselves to be very much alive and the same as they were before so-called physical death (only without the physical body).

The issues, problems and factors which caused them to decide to ‘end it’ will still be very much in existence. There is no way to negate problems or responsibilities that are yours. They are put in your pathway to be overcome and surmounted, for you to triumph over, so that you may grow in strength and Light; transition by suicide does not do away with these problems.

You are vast consciousness and as such, your mind, personality and all things associated, will still be there as part of the whole ‘you’ in the next life. The only part of you that you will leave in this world is the physical sheath.

Now, this may be frightening to someone who already feels trapped in the earthly body, yet, it is the Law of things and cannot be circumvented. Just as you cannot ‘out do’ the physical law of gravity by deciding that jumping off a cliff won’t hurt, you cannot circumvent the Universal Spiritual Laws by ending your earthly life before your time and expect all of your problems to simply dissappear. Where would be the lesson in that?

Still from the film ‘Nosso Lar’

I do know that those who pass through any trauma are assisted to settle into their new life by very caring and benevolent beings on the other side. A period of orientation into the spirit world takes place and many find themselves in beautiful rest homes, peaceful places where the individual will be helped to readjust to their new surroundings. However, once this initial period has been undertaken, a Soul will then be guided to address those problems that brought them, sometimes prematurely, into the spirit realm.

This is an uncomfortable fact for many. As a race, humanity needs to realise and understand that each of us is wholly responsible for creating what comes next and that the God of the abrahamic faiths is NOT a reality.

The eminent Spirit Guide Silver Birch (who spoke through the medium Maurice Barbanell for decades) said that suicide was like plucking a fruit from a tree before it had ripened. In the struggle of plucking, it would be bruised and damaged. He likened a transition to the next world which is in harmony with the Universal Spiritual Laws, as the ripe fruit simply falling from the tree. Natural and in a timely manner.

We all live within Universal Spiritual Laws, some mutable, some immutable. When we try to operate outside of such Laws, as with suicide, we do not nullify the Law. The Laws exist to keep balance in the Universe. All Spiritual Universal Laws are impersonal, they do not target, punish or reward individuals, they simply ARE.

Working as a medium I have encountered many people in the Spirit world who passed over by suicide. Part of their growth in the next world is to understand the ramifications that their decision has had on other people. They may even return to the earth in a similar incarnation, to try and learn more positive ways of overcoming their problems. Victims of suicide often comment upon their regret at the hurt they have caused friends and family members and that ending their physical life did not end the issues that they had to solve. I have also sat with mothers, sisters, wives and brothers of those who have died by their own hand and seen their lives destroyed.

Suicide isn’t simply the ending of one life, it is the end of many.

A brand new day

What can you do if suicide feels like the only option?

Speak to somebody and be honest. Tell them if you have planned a way in which you intend to do it. If you feel unable to cope in any way, seek help and advice. If you don’t feel that you can speak to someone close to you, phone a suicide prevention line, a charity organisation or mental health crisis hotline. If you don’t want to talk face to face with someone or on the phone, write it all down and hand the letter to someone, start the conversation. Hormonal changes (including pregnancy, post partum, perimenopause and menopause) may create or worsen suicidal ideation in some women. Speak out of this is you. Use of some antibiotics may also create suicidal thoughts in men and women. If you are a man who is experiencing suicidal ideation, you are at greater risk. Please seek help or a listening ear as soon as possible. These issues are NOT a sign of weakness and can be resolved, there are many people out there who understand and are ready to help you. You are NOT a burden on anyone.

To anyone who feels like suicide is the way out, I want to tell you how much you are loved and understood. The world would be a darker place without you in it. The thing about life is, you never know what wonderful things are just around the corner, so please don’t use a long term solution to fix what might turn out to be a short term problem.

You are loved

NEXT TIME: PART 6 (II) What happens to babies and children who pass to the Next World? Do the souls of aborted, miscarried or stillborn babies go on in the Spirit Realm?
