Welcome back to the 5th in our series of blog posts on what we can all expect after so-called physical ‘death’.
In this post, I’m going to share with you some ideas about reincarnation, what the higher realms of the angelic sphere are reported to be like and how interactions and relationships with friends and family members may be different in the Next World.

The Angelic or Celestial Realms occupy some of the finest and highest frequencies of the Spirit World. It makes sense, because Celestial beings have never lived earthly lives and therefore have not been tainted by the physical energies and emotions of the earth plane, such as desire, greed, pain, materialism etc
The beings that reside in the so called ‘upper’ realms (although there is really no up, down, left, right, front, back, spatial recognition as we would understand it in earthly terms) are those that have always resided closest to The Source (God, The Great Spirit or however you feel comfortable labelling the Creator of all things.)
These are rarified spheres where the frequency of vibration is so high that humans are simply not able to frequent or even visit; our own vibration is not a match for them. In fact, we would be unlikely to be aware of them without the help of an inhabitant of the Celestial spheres or a very advanced master guide.
The Celestial Realm is a place of pure vibrational energy. There is no need for buildings, scenery or landscape, this is a place of pastel rainbow hues the like of which we are incapable of even imagining. The quality of light there is too bright for us too. Being closer to the light of Source, the brilliant eternal rays of golden divine energy permeate every space, mingling with the pastel coloured energies of the beings who reside there. The angels have no need for form. They exist there in their pure, energetic state. Consciousness, all at once individuated yet collective, entwined in thought and feeling, they communicate telepathically with great ease and constantly receive input and guidance from Source.
The notion of angels having wings may have its roots in many cultural ideas from across the world. This collective expectation means that many people expect to encounter angels as winged humans. They will appear in this way if that is what you are comfortable with, however, this is not their natural state. Each Angel and Archangel is a vast unit of stepped down Source energy and able to instantly appear in many locations simultaneously. The Angelic Heirarchy that has been passed down to us through history, from the ancient texts of Sumeria, the Zoarastrian faith and others, into the abrahamic religions today, is an attempt at personifying these energies, making their specialties in areas of healing, protection, communication etc easily quantifiable to human understanding. It is important to remember that these incredible angelic powers are far beyond our human, physical and even metaphysical comprehension. Yet, they do exist and often operate with a gentleness and unconditional love of immense depth and compassion. They carry out their work at the behest of God and on behalf of humanity.
If you wish to work with the angelic energies for healing for yourself or others, protection, gaining wisdom and insight etc, first learn to quieten your mind and raise your vibrational frequency through the practices of meditation, prayer, gratitude, compassion and Service. Sit in a peaceful place where you will not be disturbed and set your intention to contact the angelic realm. Ask for whatever help or insight you need, then give gratitude. Wait patiently for signs or symbols to appear in your life. The angels will let you know that you have been heard. Note any unusual dreams you have afterwards, any colours or symbols you see during your meditation and any words or sounds that may have dropped in. All these will provide you with the answers you seek.

If there is one subject that divides the spiritual community the most, it is that of reincarnation. Human beings seem to have an inate fear of returning to the earth into new and unknown incarnations. This is perfectly understandable. We are mostly ego led whilst we are resident in our physical forms and ego often uses fear of the unknown to keep us safe.
When we are in this physical realm, we are only able to view things through our limited physical senses. We can only see a single jigsaw piece out of an entire puzzle. We crave attachment and belonging and can be quite needy beings.l
When we pass from this physical life, we will see and spend time with our loved ones, our pets our friends. EVERYONE WHO YOU WISH TO SEE AND SPEND TIME WITH WILL BE THERE (as long as it is their wish too!).
The Earth is the school room of the Spirit and the place where we come to experience lessons and grow our souls; so I’d ask you to give serious thought to whether you believe that one single incarnation will be enough to evolve your soul to its fullest potential? Some believe that reincarnation is as much a fact of life as birth and death. If our souls are still pulled towards the earth because of our state of soul evolution (or lack thereof), we will very naturally gravitate back to another earthly life, we cannot have it otherwise, it is the natural law of things.
Just as we are a magnetic and vibrational match to our home in spirit, we will also naturally be drawn back to the earth. There is little or no choice in the matter, it is simply what is right for our evolution.
Others believe that we are given a choice as to whether we come back. After the timelessness and Service of the Next World we may wish to undergo our next challenge and may be offered another physical incarnation, a way to work off our karmic debts and learn lessons that we missed last time around, some believe that you will have the right to refuse this offer.
There is also a theory that we may accept incarnations onto different planets in other galaxies as part of an information gathering and enrichment process. Some researchers and spiritual teachers (such the late Dolores Cannon in her book ‘The Three Waves of Volunteers’ (…….) conclude that many thousands of souls have agreed to incarnate onto the earth at this time in order to raise the collective frequency of humanity and the earth herself.
Whatever your own personal beliefs about the theory of rebirth, you may be interested to know that early Christianity included reincarnation as a central tenet. It was only when the Nazarene was made ‘Christ’, the messianic saviour of humanity (through a papal council vote) that this foundational element was removed from the Christian faith. Many other World religions hold a belief in reincarnation and rebirth to this day. What was it that made this so unpalatable for the western world and Christian Church? Well, I suppose there is little need for a saviour to give his life for the sins of humanity if the very same people are able to work out their own karmic debts and bad behaviour through reincarnation.
If you are undecided or interested in the subject, there are some wonderful books on the subject written by Michael Newton PhD, Dr Brian Weiss, Dr Raymond Moody and Dolores Cannon, to name but a few.
Humans
seem to have a natural aversion to the idea of reincarnation. It’s my own belief that while a person clings onto the fear of the possibility of returning to earth that they are destined to do just that. Once you understand your inherent divinity and your place in the universe, this fear lessens and, I believe, untethers you from the wheel of rebirth.
A lot of our fears about reincarnation revolve around the perception of our relationships with others. People often tell me that if they believe in the possibility of reborth, does that mean that their loved ones in the Next World will eventually abandon them to take up new lives back on earth. Let’s take a look at how our relationships with those we’ve known in this life may evolve very naturally in the Next World.

As earthly human beings, our lives are viewed through the very narrow lense of our physical senses, understanding and experience. When we realise how little we actually know about ourselves, our spirit and soul and those of others, it gives us space to pause and accept that life in the Next World may indeed, be very different.
As discussed previously, the World of the Spirit exists in a space of timelessness, where there is no night, no need for rushing around, clocking in and out or timetables by which to live. Instead, as we gradually evolve and journey further into spirit realms, away from the initial ‘Summerland’ state, we begin to understand the importance of Service as our primary focus and as a method to evolve our spiritual nature’s and to help and assist others along their own pathway.
The relationships we have had with others also evolve and grow from what they were whilst on the earth, into much greater and sometimes, very different roles.
If we believe in reincarnation for instance, we may have a belief in ‘Soul Groups’. That is a group of souls with affinities that have drawn them and continue to draw them together over many, many lifetimes. Each life offers a chance for roles to be switched and new experiences to be had by each individual. For instance, the Spirit who is my eldest daughter now was once my wife in an earlier incarnation. It boggles the mind doesn’t it?
When we return to the Next World and have dropped the fleshy garment of the physical body, we begin to remember our true Self and the affinities within our particular group. Therefore, your present relationships may turn out to be quite different in the Next World. Please don’t be alarmed, you are not given any information that will frighten or upset you and nothing will be revealed to you until you are ready and capable of assimilating it.
One of the most frequent questions I get asked by clients is : ‘I’ve had three husbands, which one will I have to be with in heaven?’ Firstly, you should be aware that marriage is a man made idea, which came about through women being viewed as property and commodity. Early forms of marriage were often business or financial contracts entered into as an exchange of equity. Source does not recognise individuals ‘belonging’ to each other or being each others ‘possessions’. The so called ‘sanctity’ of marriage only came about as part of a standardised, legal, religious or civil ceremony. Therefore, you needn’t spend time with anyone you do not wish to spend time with in the Next Life.
If you decide that you had more in common with the second of ten spouses, you may be with that person, depending upon whether they feel the same (there must be harmony and agreement.)
If you had a particularly difficult relationship with a parent or sibling, you can choose whether or not you wish to have a relationship with them after this life. Though, part of your soul evolution may depend upon your ability to forgive yourself and others, this still does not necessarily equal spending time in their company. For many people, death may be a blessed release from many difficult relationships.
The time we spend with family and friends in the Next World also depends upon our own and others stage of development. If a beloved grandmother has a higher level of soul evolution (which you may not necessarily be aware of until you cross over yourself), she may well be residing in a higher sphere of the Next World. That doesn’t mean that you won’t spend time with her. People who have advanced on in their journey into spirit are able to lower their vibrational frequency to visit their loved ones in other spheres. Though they have their own lives to lead and it would perhaps be churlish of one to imagine they would wish to spend all of of their time with us.
Do rest assured however, that contact and closeness with our loved ones after passing is based on need. We are tended to by many benevolent and loving souls, our own soul group and friends, as well as family members.
I hope this post has given you food for thought. If you have any questions, do feel free to pop them in the comment section.
