Welcome!

I’m so grateful that you’re reading this. Today is the first day of our Gratitude Challenge, 7 days together, building a beautiful, easy practice of appreciation.

Each day I will share with you tips, exercises and prompts to guide you to becoming a Gratitude Goddess/God!

The trick with beginning any new practice is to keep it simple.

As we remember on this first day that the more we appreciate what is already in our awareness, the more the Universe will send for us to appreciate, we begin with feeling gratitude and appreciation for the breath.

Exercise: Finding a place where you may remain undisturbed for 5 minutes. Sitting or lying down somewhere comfortable, hands resting, eyes gently closed, follow the natural rhythm of your breath.

Using gentle observation, simply notice the rise and fall of your belly with each inhalation and exhalation, no need to rush.

There is no judgement here, no need to force or change, to push or modify, simply float along, allowing the breath to behave completely naturally.

Notice how each breath in is like the rolling tide, each breath out, an opportunity to relax and let go. Release any thoughts of ‘should’ or ‘could’ in this moment and offer no judgement of yourself or others.

Wonder at the magic of the breath, the way it sustains and nourishes each part of your body, carrying precious oxygen into each of your trillions of cells and recycling waste that is not needed.

Give quiet thanks for the consistency and security of the breath.

If it helps to stay stay focused on the in breath say ‘I thank you’ on the out breath ‘I thank you’.

No pressure, just gentle observation and appreciation for all that the breath gives to you, in every moment of everyday.

When you are ready, wiggle your fingers and toes and open your eyes.

Appreciation doesn’t have to be complicated. When we show gratitude for the simplest of things, our life becomes less complicated.

Today’s Prompt: What does simplicity look like to you?

Thank you for showing up for yourself today, please join me for Day 2 of your 7 Days of Gratitude Challenge tomorrow!

xoxo
