A Note On Service.

Any small act of kindness or compassion is an act of Service.

It may be smiling at someone as you pass, holding a door open for them, or a simple wave ‘hello’ that sends a message to another ‘I see you and you and I are the same!’

When I speak of Service, I use it in the context of my Mediumship – I am a conduit (medium) for the Great Spirit’s love and wisdom to flow through, out into this physical world. Much like a copper wire that channels electricity along its length, the Universal Consciousness utilises my inate soul senses as a pathway, to ground itself by touching the lives of other souls, here, in this dimension.

The word ‘Service’ itself usually has a different connotation in the english language and is most frequently connected to being ‘servile’, oppressed, down trodden. To serve in this context may mean to do the bidding of a callous and overbearing master.

That is not the type of Service I speak of here.

When I was called to do this work (and I believe with great conviction that I agreed upon this before being born into my physical body), I took up the torch of compassion, teaching and Truth and set about assisting others out of their own darkness and forgetting.

I agreed that with the cooperation of the Spirit People, my guides and helpers in the world beyond, I would endeavour to help as many souls as possible out of their fearful, confused, sleeping state to renewed empowerment, awakening and an understanding of their true spirit nature.

Many like me heard the call and agreed to Serve, in this world and others.

I do not walk the path of Service because it is easy, nor do I walk it because ego says it will bring recognition, fame or wealth.

I Serve Truth. The truth that is knowledge of the continuation of life beyond the physical realm. The truth that we are each eternal beings of energy, experiencing a short, but very important human experience. The truth that each of us contains more power, divinity and magic in our little fingers than anyone has ever let any of us believe.

I walk this path because it is the right thing to do, because we are all a reflection of one another, birthed from the same Source and destined for much more than toil, suffering and fear.

I Serve because I have been homeless, neglected, abused, alone, hungry, sad, afraid. I have felt the jagged rock bottom of life and know what it is to struggle upwards, by tooth and nail, towards the light.

I know that there is a sacred spark inside the heart of every one of you and if one simple word of kindness or one smile can kindle that spark to become a flame which then goes on to warm the Soul of another, then my life has been worthwhile.

Service puts the needs of others before ourselves. It lessens the ego and strengthens the soul. It shines a bright light into all of the dark corners of the earth and demands that we wake up to our own Truth, that we are each magnificent, luminous beings created to do wonderful things, to help and love each other and forge peace wherever we go.

How might you serve another today?

Are you mostly self serving or giving to others?

What random act of kindness could you perform for another?
